January 2020 - Reading

Alex

Updated: Jun 6, 2020

My school encourages me to read every day. I get reading awards for the number of days that we read. I try my best not to miss a day. I decided to start posting the titles of the books that I have read here.

The Beast of Buckingham Palace by David Walliams

I read all of the David Walliam's books and I really enjoyed them I even went to the theatre to see the Billionaire Boy which was great. This new book is set 100 years in the future. The evil Lord Protector rules the Kingdom and he uses dark magic to try and destroy it. Join Prince Alfred on his adventure to beat the Lord Protector.

The Pug Who Wanted to Be a Unicorn by Bella Swift

Peggy the pug leaves his mum to find an owner but his first owner is horrible and sent him straight to the dog shelter. One day a nice family chooses her for their pet. The daughter Chloe loves unicorns and Peggy thinks she is not wanted and decides to become a unicorn.

Beckham

An exciting story of a young boy with a remarkable talent for football from playing with his friends to captaining the English men's football team. He was a free-kick king scoring loads of winning goals.

Ronaldo

A gifted young boy who played on the streets on Madeira with his friends. He became a national footballer for the Portuguese and captained his team . He played in Manchester United and Real Madrid.

Messi

An amazing left-footed play-maker also knows as 'the Flea'. Born in Argentina, he is currently playing for Barcelona

Maradona

The Argentine legend who scored the second most amount of goals behind Pele. Nicknamed 'The Golden Boy', Diego Maradona earned ninety-one international caps and scored thirty-one goals for his country, including in the 1986 World Cup where he captained his team to victory - scoring the two most famous goals of all time, against England, along the way!

Zidane

A French man with a bad temper. As an attacking midfielder, he won 13 club and 2 international trophies. His last game ended terribly. It was the World Cup final and his team lost on penalties alter his was sent off with a straight red card.

Ultimate Bodypedia

I really like fact books and I enjoy reading encyclopedias. This is one of my favourite ones, I got it for my birthday last year and I keep coming back to it. The funny fact I learnt was that the average human farts 3 litres of gas a day! And did you know that humans' hearts beat up to more than 3 billion times in the average life time.

Science Facts

Science is my favourite subject. I do a lot of experiments and read different science books. This one is a good reference guide. Did you know that a diesel engine doesn't use sparks? Most cars have 2-4 cylinders, and a ticking watch is 10 Db.
